The New York Times is reporting that Disney has started production on a new Star Wars animated series. The television series will be called Star Wars Rebels and will be set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. An EA press release announced today that Electionic Arts, universally considered to be the worst video game company in existence, has been contracted to produce several years worth of video games based on the Star Wars franchise. The move is bewildering to Star Wars fans and video gamers, who generally despise EA for it’s despicable DRM practices, greedy use of microtransactions, and continuous release of the exact same sports games every single year with no notable enhancements other than a new roster. However, Disney executives claim there is a method to their madness.

They recently started up a series by Brian Wood and Carlos D’anda that takes place in the gaps of the original movie trilogy, and now they’re giving Star Wars: Legacy, a series that takes place almost a century and a half after the first movie, another shot.
