Comic Book Reviews in 140 characters or less!
Our friends at Valiant have some fun still cooking up for this summer. In July, we finally come to the end of Harbinger Wars, the first major crossover for The Flyin’ V. We’ve been talking about it for so long, it’s odd to think of it as coming to an end. But there are also new beginnings for Valiant. The new Quantum & Woody makes its debut this month. While we’re at it, X-O Manowar, which has been in the throes of its “Planet Death” storyline, will embark on a new arc, this one featuring The Eternal Warrior, who was last seen in Archer & Armstrong, in a story that will be collected in a trade paperback out this same month. See how it all ties together?
The head honcho of Valiant comics speaks to The Outhouse about the Valiant revival!
When an editor for Marvel Comics, Warren Simons was associated with comics that had a strict focus on character and narrative intensity. Nowadays, he plies his trade as the Executive Editor of the revived Valiant Comics. Consequently, the comics published under the new Valiant Comics line do have some traces of Simons’ fingerprints on them, and the company’s launch during the summer of 2012 (branded as “The Summer of Valiant”) has been a successful one. Simons spoke to The Outhouse from the Valiant booth on the show floor of New York Comic-Con…
Valiant had themselves a panel at New York Comic-Con, where they talked a bit about what’s coming up in the immediate future in their books.
The panel was moderated by Valiant’s Marketing Manager Hunter Gorinson. On the panel were Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani, Executive Editor Warren Simons, Archer & Armstrong writer Fred Van Lente, Harbinger writer Joshua Dysart, and Shadowman writer Justin Jordan.
